Brothers Ayan and Ani Sanyal grew up as first-generation Indian Americans in Massachusetts, spending their summers in Kolkata, India, where they would drink chai every day. Not the sweet syrupy drink that is so common in western countries, but rather a blend of fresh ginger, cardamom and other spices. Now, they are bringing that drink to New York with the love and respect that authentic chai deserves.
